HomeMy WebLinkAboutSEOPW-CRA-R-01-0015ITEM 20 RESOLUTION NO. 0� 15 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") AUTHORIZING THE CRA TO PAY UP TO $4,500 TO THE CITY OF MIAMI (THE "CITY") FOR LIENS ON THE WARD ROOMING HOUSE (THE "PROPERTY") LOCATED AT 249 NW 2ND AVENUE, AND (THE CITY TO PAY THE MIAMI- DADE WATER AND SEWER (THE "MIAMI-DADE") SURPLUS LIEN IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $725.77) WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out the community redevelopment projects and activities in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Area established pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the CRA Board by resolution, authorized the CRA to purchase the property located at 249 NE 2Id Avenue formally known as the Ward Rooming House. WHEREAS, the CRA may be required to pay up to $4,500 to the City of Miami for liens on the Property located at 249 NE 2Id Avenue, and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Board of Director's have the CRA authorizes the CRA to pay up to $4,500 to the City of Miami, and other legal jurisdiction. • 0 ITEM 20 Section 3. The Board of Director's of the CRA requests the City of Miami to waive all said liens on the above -referred property. Section 4. The resolution shall be effective upon its adoption. BACKGROUND The SEO/PW CRA is in the process of executing an agreement to purchase the Ward Rooming House properties. The purchase will take place with all existing title defects including certain lien encumbrances. Local municipalities imposed a number of the liens. The SEO/PW CRA is currently requesting that such liens be removed at no cost. However in anticipation of this acquisition and the related issues, funds have been budgeted for the resolution Of such title defects. sEorwicx4 01- $ 5
