SEOPW/CRA R-00-52 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") TO TAKE ANY ACTION NECESSARY AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, ADMINISTRATION AND DEVELOPMENTS TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS, TO THE EXTENT REQUIRED BY ANY APPLICABLE GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY, IN CONNECTION WITH THE REZONING OF CERTAIN PARCELS P-1 THROUGH P-7, SP-1 THROUGH SP-3, SP-5 AND M-1 (THE "PARCELS"), AS SHOWN ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, IN ORDER TO CONFORM THE ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS OF SUCH PARCELS WITH THE PROPOSED USES OF THE PARCELS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan pursuant to Resolution Nos. 82-755 and 85-1247 (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Area (the "Redevelopment Area") established pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the CRA desires to use the Parcels in connection with various activites pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan, including without limitation, the development of parking lots, a food franchise, a job creation plaza, a rooming house and an office building (the "Proposed Uses"); WHEREAS, the CRA desires to take any action necessary to rezone the Parcels or obtain variances, land use changes and other changes and approvals required in order to permit the Parcels to be developed in accordance with the Proposed Uses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. EOPWICRA. �, ►�; Section 2. The CRA is hereby authorized to take any action necessary to rezone the Parcels or obtain variances, land use changes and any other changes and approvals required in order to permit the Parcels to be developed in accordance with the Proposed Uses to the extent required by any applicable governmental authority, in connection with the rezoning of the Parcels in order to conform the zoning classifications of the Parcels with the Proposed Uses. Section 3. The Director of Operations, Administration and Developments is hereby authorized to execute any documents required to rezone the Parcels or obtain variances, land use changes and any other changes and approvals required in order to permit the Parcels to be developed in accordance with the Proposed Uses. Section 4. The resolution shall be effective upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 22nd day of May, 2000. REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the CRA Board of Directors adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Community Redevelopment Agency to take any action necessary and authorizing the Director of Operations, Administration and Development to execute any documents, to the extent required by any applicable governmental authority, in connection with the rezoning of certain parcels, P-1 though P-7, SP-1 through SP-3, SP-5 and M-1, inorder to conform the zoning classifications of such parcels with the proposed uses of the parcels. BACKGROUND Several of the Board approved projects contained in the redevelopment plan (mostly parking lots) will require a zoning modification. The CRA seeks to apply blanket coverage by packaging them together.
