A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") TO WAIVE
COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND TO AWARD A
CONTRACT TO THE GREATER MIAMI SERVICES
CORPS ON A NON-COMPETITIVE BASIS IN
CONNECTION WITH VEGETATIVE CUTTING AND
CLEAN-UP OF LOTS OWNED BY THE CRA AND
CERTAIN RIGHT-OF-WAYS IN THE OVERTOWN SUB-
AREA OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA FOR A
PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONTHS AND EXTENDED
PERIODS AT A COST OF $96,000 PER CLEAN-UP
TEAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan pursuant to
Resolution Nos. 82-755 and 85-1247 (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the Southeast Overtown/Park West
Redevelopment Area (the "Redevelopment Area") established pursuant to the
Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to waive competitive bidding and to
award a contract to the Greater Miami Services Corps on a non-competitive
basis in connection with vegetative cutting and clean-up of lots owned by the
CRA and certain right-of-ways of the Overtown Sub -Area of the
Redevelopment Area for a period of six months and extended periods at a cost
of $96,000 per clean-up team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to
this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The CRA is hereby authorized to waive competitive
bidding and to award a contract to the Greater Miami Services Corps on a
non-competitive basis in connection with vegetative cutting and clean-up of
lots owned by the CRA and certain right-of-ways of the Overtown Sub -Area of
the Redevelopment Area for a period of six months and extended periods at a
cost of $96,000 per clean-up team.
Section 3. The resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 13th day of March, 2000.
