A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (THE "CRA") TO
PROCEED WITH A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
("RFQ") TO RETAIN THE GENERAL CONSULTANT TO
PROVIDE MISCELLANEOUS DESIGN, PLANNING AND
RELATED SERVICES UNDER A TWO-YEAR
CONTRACT WITH TWO ONE-YEAR RENEWAL
OPTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH PROJECTS WITHIN
THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan pursuant to
Resolution Nos. 82-755 and 85-1247 (the "SEOPW Redevelopment Plan");
and
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the Southeast Overtown/Park West
Redevelopment Area (the "SEOPW Redevelopment Area") established
pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Omni Area
Redevelopment Plan pursuant to Resolution Nos. 86-868 and 86-607 (the
OMNI Redevelopment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the Omni Redevelopment Area (the
"OMNI Redevelopment Area"; the OMNI Redevelopment Area and the
SEOPW Redevelopment Area, collectively, the Redevelopment Areas.
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to retain the general consultant under a
two-year contract with two one-year renewal options.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to
this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The CRA is hereby authorized to proceed with an RFQ to
retain the general consultant to provide miscellaneous design, planning and
related services with respect to projects of the CRA effective the earlier of
October 1, 2000 or the date the CRA enters into a consultant contract with
the selected respondent to the RFQ under a two-year contract with two one-
year renewal options, at the discretion of the CRA in an amount not to exceed
$250,000 per year to be allocated between the Redevelopment Areas at the
discretion of the CRA.
Section 3. The selected respondent and the contract shall be
submitted to the CRA Board of Directors for approval.
Section 4. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.
