RESOLUTION NO. SEOPW/CRA R-99-17
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY (THE "CRA") TO NEGOTIATE AN
AGREEMENT WITH ST. JOHN'S MISSIONARY
CHURCH, AND ST. JOHN'S COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION WHICH AGREEMENT
WILL PROVIDE FOR THE CRA TO DEVELOP A
PARKING LOT ON LAND OWNED BY ST. JOHN'S
MISSIONARY CHURCH, ON LAND OWNED BY ST.
JOHN'S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
AND LAND OWNED BY THE CRA (OR THE CITY OF
MIAMI) AND FOR THE JOINT USE OF THE CRA
PARKING LOT, THE ST. JOHN'S MISSIONARY
CHURCH PARKING LOT AND THE ST. JOHN'S
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
PARKING LOT BY BOTH CHURCH MEMBERS AND
THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN CONNECTION WITH
BUSINESSES LOCATED WITHIN THE NW 3RD
AVENUE BUSINESS CORRIDOR.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 98-592 adopted on June 9, 1998,
the City of Miami Commission designated NW 3rd Avenue from NW 8th Street
to NW loth Street, and NW 8th Street from NW 3rd Avenue to NW 4th Avenue
as a "Priority Pilot Project" (the "NW 3rd Avenue Business Corridor Project");
and
WHEREAS, the NW 3rd Avenue Business Corridor Project is intended
to encourage commercial developments by providing infrastructure
improvements for new and expanding businesses within the NW 3rd Avenue
Business Corridor; and
WHEREAS, the development of infrastructure improvements
consisting of parking lots will promote and support new commercial
developments and existing businesses within the NW 3rd Avenue Business
Corridor Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to
this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Executive Director of the CRA is hereby authorized to
negotiate an agreement with St. John's Missionary Church and St. John's
Community Development Corporation which agreement will provide for the
CRA to develop a parking lot on lands owned by the CRA (or the City of
Miami), St. John's Missionary Church and St. John's Community
Development Corporation as identified as Parcel P-1 on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof (the "Parking Lot"), which Parking Lot is to be
jointly used by both church members and the general public in connection
with businesses located within the NW 3rd Avenue Business Corridor Project
and for the joint use of the Parking Lot by both church members and the
general public in connection with the businesses located within the NW 3rd
Avenue Business Corridor Project, such agreement shall be subject to the
availability of funds. The agreement shall be presented to the Board of
Directors of the CRA for approval.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its
adoption.
