RESOLUTION NO. 8 4
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A POSITION
ON THE STAFF OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY AND THE RECRUITING AND HIRING OF AN
EMPLOYEE FOR SUCH STAFF POSITION.
WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Agency (the "CRA") is responsible for
carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects in the Omni Redevelopment
Area and the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Area pursuant to a
Redevelopment Plan in effect for each such redevelopment area; and
WHEREAS, the CRA staff has a need for an employee to provide certain services to
the CRA on a full-time basis; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to seek qualified individuals for the position; and
WHEREAS, the CRA's budget, which was approved by the City Commission of the
City of Miami, includes expenditures for the salary, benefits and other expenses related to
such employee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted
by reference and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A civil service career position titled development coordinator is hereby
created and approved. The salary, benefits and other expenses related to such employee shall
not exceed the respective amounts approved for such expenditures in the CRA's budget.
Funds for the salaries, benefits and other expenses related to such employees are hereby
allocated from the budget of the CRA and the respective community redevelopment areas.
Section 3. The Director of Human Resources of the City of Miami is hereby requested
to advertise that the CRA has an opening for a development coordinator position. Any such
advertisement shall request that interested individuals furnish their resumes and qualifications
to the Director. The Director shall evaluate the resumes and qualifications received from
candidates for the position and shall provide her recommendations to the Chairman of the
CRA. The Chairman of the CRA is hereby authorized to approve the hiring of a qualified
employee for such position.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
