A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ALLOCATING GRANT FUNDS
FROM THE MAYOR'S SHARE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ANTI- POVERTY
INITIATIVE PROGRAM IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED
FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) TO THE LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY
REVITALIZATION TRUST ("TRUST") FOR THE TRUST'S 2022 SUMMER YOUTH
EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, SUBJECT
TO APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS,
INCLUDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AND
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ALLOCATING GRANT FUNDS
FROM THE MAYOR'S SHARE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ANTI- POVERTY
INITIATIVE PROGRAM IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED
FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) TO THE LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY
REVITALIZATION TRUST ("TRUST") FOR THE TRUST'S 2022 SUMMER YOUTH
EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, SUBJECT
TO APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS,
INCLUDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AND
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") created the Anti -Poverty Initiative ("API") to
address poverty based on a strategy of focusing the provision of support towards the City's
residents achieving self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, the Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust ("Trust") will implement a
2022 Summer Youth Employment Program ("Program") that imparts financial empowerment
through paid work assignments; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor wishes to provide grant funds from the Mayor's share of API
funds in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) ("Funds")
for the Program which will provide jobs to at -risk youth, ages fourteen (14) through eighteen (18)
years of age in Liberty City, affording them an opportunity to gain work experience throughout
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting authority from the City Commission to
negotiate and execute any and all documents necessary, subject to all applicable requirements
of all Federal, State, and local laws, including the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended ("City Charter'), and the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"),
and in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the allocation of the Funds for the Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to allocate the Funds from the Mayor's
share of API Funds to the Trust for the Program.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
documents necessary, subject to requirements of all Federal, State, and local laws, including
the City Charter and City Code, and in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
