C C' P.O. BOX 330708 MIAMI. FLORIDA 33233-0708 308.230-8380 My office has contacted Father Richard Barry on two occasions concerning the 240 Building. Father Barry returned the second call and informed us that the 240 Building is now owned by New Horizons. However, you claim that you know of proof which states quite the opposite. Should you obtain proof of ownership from the County Clerk's Office, I really would appreciate you providing my office with a copy. Sincerely, 6il ' e . Dawkins City of Miami Commissioner cc: Father Richard Barry , W/CRA 95- 3 Commissioner Miller J. Dawkins City of Miami 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida 33133 July 25, 1995 Dear Commissioner Dawkins: Your help is needed if we are to save our housing. As your are aware; The city of Miami has turned our building over to St. Agnes Rainbow Village, CDC. The CDC has decided to turn the property over to New Horizons Community Mental Health Program. This action caused an eviction notice to be issued to the tenants who were already living in the building. We were told that the building would be used to house homeless people from New Horizons. Comm. Dawkins, we cannot see the purpose in causing us to become homeless, so as to provide housing for others. We have done everything that we could, and nothing has changed. Please assist us with obtaining an appearance before the City Commission. We do not know what to do to save our housing. The above mention property is located: 240 N.W. 11 th street, Miami Fl 33136. This matter is very important to us, so if we could appare on August 3, 1995, or the next meeting, we would appreciate it. Any help that you could give us would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance, we are. TruA Nl off.
