After years of disuse and deterioration, the
stadium was named in 2009 as one of
America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.
Please vote to authorize $45 million in revenue
bonds to restore the Marine Stadium. The
National Trust for Historic Preservation, named
Miami Marine Stadium a National Treasure and
it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Jimmy Buffett and Gloria and Emilio Estefan
have supported the restoration.
As a Morningside resident, architect, and
father, I am in favor of approving the
conceptual plan and getting funding to bring
this wonderful park back to life, understanding
this is a conceptual plan and details will be
worked out during schematic and design
development phases. Please approve funding!
Good morning commissioners. Across the 50
states, Florida ranks 9th for solar energy
potential, yet only about a tenth of the state's
power is solar based. Florida has long lagged
behind in solar utilization. It's time we actually
live up to our name as the Sunshine state, and
Miami, as the Floridian city that has the most
sunny days a year, can help lead this charge. In
addition, solar will certainly help us reach our
greenhouse gas reduction goals. On behalf of
the Climate Resilience Committee and all the
residents of Miami who want a more climate
resilient home, I urge you to oppose Senate Bill
1024 and House Bill 741, legislation that for
some reason is looking to slash our solar
progress. Thank you, Nkosi Muse
I am a property owner directly adjacent to the
park/tennis court facility, and was present at
the Morningside Community Associations
varios park meetings including the one held on

STRONGLY SUPPORTED THE MASTER PLAN
moving forward. There are questions about
specifics elements of the Park and about
elevations of shoreline and buildings proposed,
which we understand will become part of the
next design phase. This plan is overwhelming
supported by the Neighborhood at large, and
with reservations that specifics are to be
further developed both with neighborhood
and expert input. VOTE TO APPROVE THIS
MASTERPLAN - the park and the neighborhood
have suffered for numerous years without
proper infrastructure re -investment and
without any flood plain improvements which
are critical to protect our investments in this
community.
I am very upset that there is going to be
discussion on doing away with our NET offices,
especially Madelyn Pacheco. She is the best at
her job. Every time I have a question or
problem she solves it ASAP. Are you going to
replace her so I can get problems solved? This
is very scary since there is no other office that
can do this. You don't know how difficult it is
to get answers because you are in charge and
can get it from staff. I have called and left
messages in your office and never get a call
back. Even email is not answered. Please do
the right thing and keep the NET.
