Background of Item: On January 10, 2019, pursuant to Resolution No.19-0021 and February 13, 2020, pursuant to Resolution No. 20-0046, respectively, the City Commission approved the Single Family Replacement Home and Single -Family Rehabilitation policies establishing the maximum replacement and rehabilitation home limits of $150,000 and $50,000 respectively. The amount of rehabilitation needed to bring properties to building code and for the health and safety of residents has consistently be over and above the current maximum rehabilitation amount of $50,000, due to the increase in the cost of materials and labor during this pandemic. These two programs are tools needed to assist low and moderate income homeowners to preserve their homes or rebuild their homes. The City's Administration recommends the Single Family Rehabilitation program and Single Family Replacement Home program maximum amount to change from $50,000 to $70,000 and from $150,000 to $250,000, respectively, as indicated in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated.
