A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE THE CITY
MANAGER TO TRANSFER BUDGETED GENERAL FUND DOLLARS FROM MINOR
OBJECT CODE (552100) SAFETY SUPPLIES TO (664000) MACHINERY AND
EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $96,240.74 OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S
BUDGET AS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. R-21-0408 ADOPTED
ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2021; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DESIGNATE THE CHIEF OF POLICE OR HIS DESIGNEE TO IMPLEMENT THE
TRANSFER AND APPROPRIATE USE OF THE TRANSFERRED FUNDS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-21-0408, the City of Miami's ("City") Police
Department ("MPD") requests a transfer of funds from its line item budgeted object code
(552100) safety supplies to (664000) machinery and equipment in the amount of $96,240.74;
and
WHEREAS, the transferred funds will be utilized to cover the purchase requisitions that
were approved and processed in Fiscal Year (TY") 2020-21 which, due to the year-end
process, were cancelled as the vendors were not able to deliver the requested goods before the
September 30, 2021 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the new purchase requisitions need to be issued for FY 2021-22 in order for
the vendors to now be able to ship and receive assurance of payments; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-33(f) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended, the City Commission, by a majority vote, deems this Resolution to be of an
emergency nature in order to immediately protect the public health, welfare, and safety of the
City's residents, visitors, and businesses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to transfer budgeted general fund dollars
from minor object code (552100) safety supplies to (664000) machinery and equipment in the
amount of $96,240.74 of MPD's budget as required pursuant to Resolution No. R-21-0408
adopted on September 23, 2021.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
Section 3. The City Manager is also further authorized to designate the Chief of Police
or his designee to implement the transfers.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.3

3 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City of Miami Commission.
