HomeMy WebLinkAboutExhibit BEXHIBIT "B" Little Haiti Revitalization Trust Master Plan for FY2021-2022 Approved by the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust on August 25th, 2021 Background: The ordinance establishing the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust at Section 12.5-49(c) requires the submission of a master plan reflecting the proposed operations, activities, and improvements of the revitalization initiative for the forthcoming fiscal year in conjunction with the submission of a budget to the City Commission for approval. This 3-month master plan is being submitted with a 3-month budget in fulfillment of this requirement. Operations: The budget represents a 12-month operational and start-up capital for a President/CEO and an administrative aide. It is anticipated that the Trust staff will work from an existing City of Miami facility and will only require furniture, computers and office equipment to operate. Activities: 1. Conduct community -wide meetings throughout the year to get input from residents on the following: a. Establish policy for the revitalization efforts in the area b. How to promote economic development, business and general commerce in the community c. Establish a process to advice the City Commission and other City Departments on revitalization efforts in the community d. The role of the Trust in increasing homeownership rate among residents e. Discuss how the Trust can get access to new rental developments for residents f. Discuss the role of the Trust in community benefits for development projects in the community 2. Produce a fundraising plan: The CEO with the support of the Trust will produce a fundraising plan that will provide additional resources for operations and programs by September 30t", 2021. 3. Master Plan: Creating a scope of work and interviewing consultants to create a master plan for Little Haiti community. 4. Programs: Design programs to assist first-time homebuyers purchase homes in the community, current owners rehabilitate their properties and provide support for small businesses. 5. Training: Design training for minority contractors and businesses and other job seekers in the community
