HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-21-0349City of Miami f Legislation Resolution: R-21-0349 File Number: 9473 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 9/13/2021 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENTS, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET OF THE LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION TRUST, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "C," IN THE AMOUNT OF $969,711.00 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2020 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2021. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") created and established the Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust ("Trust") pursuant to Ordinance No. 12859 adopted October 12, 2006; and WHEREAS, the Trust is responsible for the oversight and facilitation of the City's revitalization and redevelopment activities in the Liberty City area; and WHEREAS, Section 12.5-36 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), provides that the Trust shall submit a budget to the City Commission for approval in a form acceptable to the City Manager; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-20-0281 adopted September 10, 2020, the City Commission approved the Trust's original annual budget for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021 in the amount of $809,711.00, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A" ("Original Annual Budget"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-21-0232 adopted June 10, 2021, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "B," the Trust received unanticipated revenues from the District 5 Commissioner's share of the City's Anti -Poverty Initiative funds in the total amount of One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) to fund the Trust's Summer Youth Program; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Fifth Modification to the Lease and Development Agreement dated March 6, 2019 between the City and ESJ JI Leasehold, LLC, which was approved pursuant to Resolution No. R-18-0232 adopted June 8, 2018 and thereafter approved by voter referendum, the Trust received unanticipated revenues in the amount of Thirty -Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00); and WHEREAS, Section 12.5-36(a) of the City Code provides for the Trust to return to the City Commission for approval of supplements to the Original Annual Budget; and WHEREAS, the governing body of the Trust reviewed and approved the Trust's supplemented and amended budget for Fiscal Year 2020-2021, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "C" ("Supplemental Budget"), on August 19, 2021; City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 9473 (Revision:) Printed On: 912712021 File ID: 9473 Enactment Number: R-21-0349 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Trust's Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Supplemental Budget in the total amount of $969,711.00, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "C," for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021 is approved and adopted. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'
