Re: Wynwood Business Improvement District `BID" - FY'22 Operating Budget Approval
Enclosed is the proposed Wynwood Business Improvement District "BID" operating budget packet
for fiscal year FY'22 for your review. The Wynwood BID are pleased to announce the continuation of
thesuccessfulinitiatives that were -introduced in FY'21,-in addition to the introduction of new -projects
aimed at cementing our commitment to serve the local community, City of Miami and visitors alike.
Similar to last year, where the BID facilitated paid services/donations totaling $559,819 for the City of
Miami, which equates to approximately 48% percent of our total operating budget, to help assist our
community and partners at City Hall.
Below are some highlights of this year's proposed budget:
■ $118,000 budgeted for the Wynwood BID's third "donation" to the City of Miami Police
Department for HD public safety surveillance system. Please note Wynwood has the
highest density of security cameras within the City of Miami due to our on -going
partnership.
■ $189,879 allocated towards BID staffmg for street cleaning services for the District, which
amounts to approximately 13K hours of public right of way cleaning coverage for our 50 block
District, that does not have City of Miami assistance since our inception in 2013.
■ $100,000 has been budgeted for neighborhood community grants to enhance culture, via
grants for both community events and enhancement and contributions to the artist
community.
• $14,000 for public sidewalk rubbermulching installations throughout the District, to help the City
of Miami not receive "trip & fall" lawsuits for empty tree beds throughout the District.
■ $362,000 has been allocated towards marketing initiatives to assist businesses and the District
during this COVID pandemic.
■ $50,000 has been allocated to assist with cultural fagade grants that will allow for murals and
artists to receive matching grants to create legacy murals that would last up to 3 years, as per
our agreement.
■ $5,000 donation to Code Compliance for sound monitors and cameras, as per our agreement
and promise to the City of Miami if the second reading of the noise reading passes.
We respectfully request your approval of this proposed budget at your scheduled City of Miami
Commission this coming September. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at anytime.
Sincerely,
