A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RESCHEDULING THE FIRST
CITY COMMISSION MEETING FROM THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 TO
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 STARTING AT 9:00 A.M. TO BE HELD AT CITY
HALL, 3500 PAN AMERICAN DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY
TO ENSURE THAT THE PUBLIC IS PROPERLY NOTIFIED OF THE CHANGE IN
DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 2-32(b) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City
Code"), states that regular City Commission meetings shall be held on the second and fourth
Thursdays of every month except for August, November, and December; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has scheduled the City of Miami's first budget hearing
for Monday, September 13, 2021 at 5:05 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Sections 2-32(a) and (c) of the City Code state that the City Commission
may designate alternate times for City Commission meetings by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it would be in the best interest of the
residents of the City to hold its first City Commission meeting in September on the same day as
the first budget hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The first City Commission meeting in September is rescheduled from
Thursday, September 9, 2021 to Monday, September 13, 2021 starting at 9:00 a.m. to be held
at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida.
Section 3. The City Manager and the City Clerk are both directed to take any all actions
necessary to ensure that the public is properly notified of the change in the date of the first City
Commission meeting in September 2021.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
