Archer May 260' 2021 City Commission, City of Miami City Hail 3500 Pan American Dr, Miami, FL 33133 RE: Letter of Support — Stirrup Properties and company (Agenda Items PZ. 6 and PZ. 7) I write on behalf of the Vestry (governing body), and members of Christ Episcopal Church, to voice our strong support for the zoning upgrades (for the agenda items identified above), and the proposed Inn to be built on Charles Ave. by Stirrup Properties and company. Anyone remotely familiar with the history of the `West Grove' knows of the integral place of the Stirrup Family. This legacy, is the product of E. W. F. Stirrup who was also one of the founding members of our church. His vision has provided housing for many of the original settlers of Bahamian desent in our community_ over the years, and those in his family who carry the vision on, continue to play their part in building this community up. In recent years, many of the descendants of the founders of this community have been forced to leave, and their Bahamian -style homes destroyed, due to `development' and the lack of economic opportunity and political support. While some may view the proposed zoning change and business venture in a negative light, the truth of the matter is, that it is a project proposed by those who's roots are deep in our community, and who's contribution to its development is unmatched by these detractors! We believe it should garner the support of all those who genuinely speak about the development of the West Grove and its potential economic and cultural growth, especially since this initiative comes from, and continues the legacy of the Stirrup Family. With development comes change, and we are confident, that as this project moves forward, this family will continue to act in the best interest of our community. The Vestry and congregation of Christ Episcopal Church strongly support agenda items PZ. 6 and PZ. 7. U a L aJ Yours in Christ, C ri a v O a E O r.
