WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove Village Council ("Council") was privately founded in the 1990s by residents of the City of Miami ("City") and serves as a forum for the residents and businesses of Coconut Grove ("Grove") to address issues of concern in the Grove community, to discuss proposed projects and events, and to bring these issues to the attention of City and Miami -Dade County officials; and WHEREAS, the area represented by the Council falls within the boundaries of the City's District 2 Commissioner, including the following voting precincts: 532, 546, 582, 583, 584, 585, 586, and 587, all as detailed in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-05-0488 adopted July 28, 2005, Resolution No. R-09-0376 adopted July 23, 2009, Resolution No. R-13-0334 adopted September 12, 2013, and Resolution No. R-17-0306 adopted June 22, 2017, the City granted the Council's request to "piggy -back" on the City's elections; and WHEREAS, the Council desires to again "piggy -back" on the City's general municipal election to be held on November 2, 2021; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The request from the Council to place a slate of candidates for election to the Council on the November 2, 2021 City's general municipal election ballot is approved. Section 3. The City Clerk is authorized to request that the Miami -Dade County Supervisor of Elections ("Supervisor') place the slate of candidates for election to the Council on the November 2, 2021 City general municipal election ballot at the appropriate precinct(s), contingent upon the Council meeting all criteria set forth by the Supervisor. Section 4.
