As the only local organization addressing this particular need, county -wide, we have built the expertise and infmstrocture to tackle critical home repairs; securing safe and healthy housing for those most in need. Our efforts preserve afErodable home -ownership, fight gentrification, stabilize communities, and ensure the safety and health of residents. Since inception, RTMD has rehabbed over 1,000 homes and donated more than 0 million dollars in market value to the community. Our Critical Home Repairs program Project/Program Description: addresses hazards affecting the safety, health, and/or accessibility of homes owned by low-income homeowner. Utilizing a checklist addressing 25 health and safety priorities, we assess and create a scope of work unique to each home. All assessments and repairs are free of charge for homeowners. Common home repairs and modifications include roof replacement, plumbing, and electrical repairs, drywall replacement, ADA bathroom modifications, and other repairs as deemed necessary. Program Start Date: April 1, 2021 Program End Date: March 30, 2022 Please describe how this program/project and funding will alleviate poverty within the City of Miami? Rebuilding Together Miami -Dada's programs serve Miami's most vulnerable homeowners. Wbile these homeowners have already achieved the American dream ofhomeownership, they still struggle to make ends meet. This forces homeowners to choose between making home repairs and providing their families with other critical necessities like food, medicine, school supplies, or utility bills. Repairs made by Rebuilding Together alleviation the financial burden of costly home repairs so homeowner have more expendable income to support themselves and their families. IMPACT AND PERFORMANCE: Describe overall expected outcomes and performance measures for this project/program: Upon completion of repairs and modifications made with API funding, each property touched by Rebuilding Together Miami -Dade will be safer healthier, more affordable, and more attractive. We utilize a 25 point check -list developed to address the 8 principles of safe and healthy housing created by HUD. This list ensures each project is thoroughly assessed and repairs made specifically address the safety and health issues at home. Common repairs include accessibility modifications, roof replacement, hurricane -impact windows and doors, among other repairs. All residents served with API funding will reside in District 2 City of Miami. Rebuilding Together Miami -Dade will submit a copy of our homeowner application which list address and verifies income of homeowner. We will submit a recap of the repairs provided, a scope of work and impact report for each home repaired, copies of all invoices for contracted services along with cancelled checks, and photos of work completed. Example include but are not limited to: critical safety/health repairs for vulnerable homeowners; renovation of dilapidated homes in an effort to make them safe, healthy, and inhabitable for low-income renters; and exterior beautification projects.
