HomeMy WebLinkAboutNotice to the PublicCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 9:00 A.M. at City Hall, located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, 33133 for the purpose of granting the following: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ADOPTING THE FINDINGS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ("COUNTY") THAT: IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 163.335, FLORIDA STATUTES, THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA LOCATED IN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") GENERALLY BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY BIRD ROAD (SOUTHWEST 40 STREET) AND THE PROPERTIES NORTH OF BIRD ROAD, ON THE EAST BY MCDONALD STREET AND MAIN STREET, ON THE SOUTH BY MARLER AVENUE AND LOQUAT STREET, AND ON THE WEST BY 39 AVENUE ("AREA"), AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO BE A SLUM OR BLIGHTED AREA; THAT THE REHABILITATION, CONSERVATION, AND REDEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA TO BE IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, MORALS, AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY, THE CITY, AND THE RESIDENTS LIVING WITHIN THE AREA; ACCEPTING THE COUNTY'S DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO CREATE A COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO BE KNOWN AS THE WEST GROVE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("WEST GROVE CRA"), WITH GEOGRAPHIC BOUNDARIES AS SET FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, AND AUTHORIZING A COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE AREA BE PREPARED; FURTHER, PURSUANT TO SECTION 163.356(1), FLORIDA STATUES, DECLARING THAT THERE IS A NEED FOR THE WEST GROVE CRA AND DECLARING THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION TO BE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE WEST GROVE CRA WHICH WILL BE A SEPARATE, DISTINCT, AND INDEPENDENT ENTITY FROM THE CITY COMMISSION WITH ALL THE RIGHTS, POWERS, PRIVILEGES, DUTIES, AND IMMUNITIES OF A COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 163.357, FLORIDA STATUTES; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THOSE NAMED HEREIN. The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented at the meeting and may be heard with respect to any proposition before the City Commission in which the City Commission may take action. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
