Federal regulations governing CDBG and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with
reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs. In
addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the City program(s) as indicated
below: *t
1. Discuss and proposal resolution pursuant to Section 29-b(a) of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida,
as amended ("City Charter"), authorizing the City Manager to transfer, with restrictions and automatic
reverter provisions, the City of Miami owned parcel of land and all improvements thereon located at
1492 NW 62 Street, Miami, Florida, Folio No. 01-3114-035-1690 ("Parcel"), as more particularly
described in Attachment 'A" attached and incorporated, to Multi -Ethnic Youth Group Association, Inc.
("MEYGA"), a Florida not for Profit Corporation, for the redevelopment of the parcel for the expansion of
its learning center for at risk children and youth in the Miami area.
2. Discuss and proposed ordinance of the Miami City Commission establishing the Affordable
Housing Advisory Committee by amending Chapter 2/Article XI/Division 8 of the Code of the City
of Miami, Florida, as amended, titled "Administration/Boards, Committees, Commissions/
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee", establishing the City of Miami Affordable Housing
Advisory Committee to comply with Section 420.9076, Florida Statutes, and participate in the
State Housing Initiatives Partnership ("SHIP") program; stating the committee's purpose, powers,
duties, composition, appointment qualifications and requirements for membership; providing for
officers, rules of procedure, meetings, quorum, budget, legal and staff support, assignment of
personnel, waivers, and public notice; further amending Chapter 2/Article XI/Division 19 of the
City Code, entitled "Housing and Commercial Loan Committee" to remove reference to the
purposes, functions, powers, and duties of the Housing and Commercial Loan Committee that will
be subsumed by the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; containing a severability clause
and providing for an effective date.
* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/
amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.
t t This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 5 days. The review and comment period
begin, Friday, February 19, 2021 and ends Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The proposed funding recommendation(s)/
amendment(s) will be presented to City Commission for approval on Thursday, February 25, 2021 (Virtual Public Hearing) as
authorized by HUD.
