A RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING MARLON
ANDREW HILL TO THE OFF-STREET
PARKING BOARD OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY OF
MIAMI COMMISSION THAT THE
REAPPOINTMENT BE CONFIRMED FOR THE
UNEXPIRED TERM THROUGH J[JNE 14, 2023.
WHEREAS, at a duly noticed public meeting, the members of the Off -Street
Parking Board of the City of Miami ("Board") unanimously passed and adopted Resolution
No. 18-01 ("Resolution"), reappointing Mr. Marlon Andrew Hill, Esq. ("Mr. Hill") to the
Board for a term of five (5) years; and
WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the City of Miami Commission ("City
Commission") affirmed the Board's reappointment of Mr. Hill for a term expiring June 14,
2023 as provided by Resolution, and pursuant to Section 23(b) of the City of Miami
Charter; and
WHEREAS, while serving on the Board, Mr. Hill decided to run for a seat on the
Miami -Dade Board of County Commissioners, and prior to qualifying for said office, Mr.
Hill tendered his letter of resignation, in accordance with Florida's resign -to -run law, under
Section 99.012 of the Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the election culminated with Mr. Hill achieving a third place standing
and thus, was unable to secure a position for the required runoff election; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hill's candidacy for a seat on the Miami -Dade Board of County
Commissioners created a vacancy on the Miami Parking Authority Board of Directors that
must be filled; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hill desires to resume services on the Board and aspires to be
reappointed to the vacant seat so that he can fill the unexpired term, through June 14, 2023;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 23(b) of the City of Miami Charter, Mr.
Hill is eligible for reappointment by the remaining members of the Board to serve his
unexpired term, subject to affirmation by the City Commission within ten (10) days after
notice of such reappointment by the Board; and

WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, Mr. Hill has served the Board with distinction
and impeccable leadership; and
WHEREAS, the Board respectfully requests that the City Commission affirm the
reappointment of Mr. Hill, to continue to serve the remainder of his term expiring June 14,
2023, as provided in Section 23(b) of the City of Miami Charter.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OFF-STREET PARKING
BOARD OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Mr. Marlon Andrew Hill, Esq., is hereby reappointed as a member of
the Off -Street Parking Board of the City of Miami, pursuant to Section 23(b) of the City of
Miami Charter, for the remaining term expiring on June 14, 2023.
Section 2. The Off -Street Parking Board of the City of Miami, herby recommends
to the City Commission the reappointment of Mr. Marlon Andrew Hill, Esq., to be
affirmed, pursuant to the requirements of Section 23(b) of the City of Miami Charter.
