A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
("CDBG") FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,287,998.20 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO THE AGENCIES/AND OR
DEPARTMENTS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED,
FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS,
RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, AS MAY BE NECESSARY,
SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE
USE OF SUCH FUNDS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
Background of Item:
Pursuant to Resolution No. R-20-0212, adopted July 23, 2020, the Miami City
Commission approved the allocation of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG")
in the Economic Development category for program year 2020-2021, in an amount of
$2,287,998.20 to the Department of Housing and Community Development
("Department").
There is a need to re -allocate these funds to the agencies/and or departments, specified
in the Exhibit "A" for economic development activities to expedite the spending of funds.
The City Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG funds in the amount of
$2,287,998.20 from the "Department" to the agencies/and or departments specified in
Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, for Economic Development activities.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
TRANSFERRING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,287,998.20 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO THE AGENCIES AND/OR DEPARTMENTS
SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND
MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE
USE OF SUCH FUNDS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-20-0212 adopted on July 23, 2020, the City
Commission allocated Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds in the Economic
Development category for program year 2020-2021 in an amount of $2,287,998.20 to the
Department of Housing and Community Development ("Department'); and
WHEREAS, there is a need to allocate these funds to the agencies and/or departments
specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, for Economic Development activities to
expedite the spending of the funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG funds in the
amount of $2,287,998.20 from the Department to the agencies and/or departments specified in
Exhibit 'A" attached and incorporated, for Economic Development activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds in the amount of $2,287,998.20 from the
Department to the agencies and/or departments specified in Exhibit "A," attached and
incorporated, for Economic Development activities is authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, including but not limited to amendments, extensions, and modifications,
all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, subject to all federal, state, and local laws that
regulate the use of such funds, for said purpose.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

Z If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
