AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER
2/ARTICLE II/SECTION 2-33 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AMENDED, TITLED "ADMINISTRATION/MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION/ORDER OF BUSINESS AND RULES OF PROCEDURE," TO
CLARIFY HOW ITEMS ARE CONTINUED; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, on December 12, 2019, Ordinance No. 13885 was adopted by the City
Commission clarifying that planning and zoning items can be addressed on any City
Commission agenda; and
WHEREAS, accordingly, there is no longer a need for items to be continued to specific
planning and zoning agendas or non -planning and zoning agendas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are
adopted and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is further amended by
amending Chapter 2/Article II/Section 2-33 in the following particulars:'
"CHAPTER 2
ADMINISTRATION
ARTICLE II. MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
Section 2-33. Order of Business and rules of procedure.
(k) Any scheduled agenda item not considered prior to the adjournment of the first Fe9l r
FFIE)Rthly a city commission meeting shall be perfunctorily regarded as a ^^gid -deferred
item and scheduled on the next immediate FneRth's first regular city commission agenda.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.

Section 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this
Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after final reading and
adoption thereof.2

2 This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10)
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective date stated
herein, whichever is later.
