File No. 5399 At its September 12, 2019 meeting, the City Commission considered the above referenced agenda item, CA. 10, which authorized the allocation of grant funds from the Mayor's share of the City of Miami's Anti -Poverty Initiative, in a total amount not to exceed fifty thousand dollars ($513,000.00), to Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation, in support of its wrap around services program for homeless youth. The Legislation was inadvertently published with superflous and duplicate language and has been updated to remove said language. FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE MAYOR'S SHARE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ANTI- POVERTY INITIATIVE IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00) TO MIAMI BRIDGE YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES, INC., A FLORIDA NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION, IN SUPPORT OF ITS WRAP AROUND SERVICES PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS YOUTH; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY, ALL IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. Suarez WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") created the Anti -Poverty Initiative ("API") to address poverty based on a strategy of focusing the provision of support towards City's residents achieving self-sufficiency; and WHEREAS, Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation ("Miami Bridge"), is seeking funding in support of its Wrap Around Services Program for Homeless Youth ("Program"); and WHEREAS, the Program, as described incorporated, provides services to at risk youth, case manager to reduce homelessness; and in further detail in Exhibit "A," attached and parent education, and weekly home visits by a WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18-72 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), the Mayor wishes to provide grant funds from the Mayor's share of the City's API in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) ("Funds") for the Program; and WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting authority from the City Commission to negotiate and execute any and all documents necessary, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for the allocation of Funds for the Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Pursuant to Section 18-72 of the City Code, the City Manager is authorized' to allocate Funds from the Mayor's share of the City's API to Miami Bridge for the Program. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to execute any and all necessary documents, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4.
